It’s finally the season to be jolly but also the season before we welcome 2023. And while we are excited for Christmas and New Year, there are still things that would be worth your time to do aside from your work tasks and school projects before December ends and 2023 comes. Here are the things to do before December ends:
1. Spend time reflecting on the year 2022
What a ride it was, 2022. A lot of things happened both in your personal and work or school life. 15 minutes to sit down alone would not be lost. Spend time to reflect on everything that happened this year–from the things you’ve learned, unlearned, and realized, also the things you’ve achieved and failed to achieve–everything in between.
2. Set Goals for the year 2023
After reflecting on your life during 2022, then it would be best to set your goals for the year 2023. It could be written on paper, or on your digital notes whether on your phone or laptop as long as you have a hard copy of it. Write everything from the most reachable goals to the biggest ones–the sky is the limit. By doing this, you get to be more focused and organized about the things that you want to achieve. As the year goes by, you could track your growth by also writing it.
3. Buy a new journal
Are you also the type of person who loves keeping a record of your personal thoughts, day, insights, and feelings? If yes, then you’ll surely love this, and if no, this is the best time to start doing so. Buying a new journal is one of those things that I personally love to do in December. The excitement of choosing the color, the size, and the kind of paper really is something I look forward the end of the year. Buying your journal before the 1st of January gives you a lot of time to have it prepared before the year officially begins. If you are a creative kind of person, this is the best time to let your creativity run wild.
4. Thank the People that made your 2022 better
Whether it is your friends, family members, co-workers, children, or anyone who made your 2022 better, this is the best time to show them how grateful you are to have them in your life. Thanking them could be done in different ways. It could be through gifts, handwritten letters, or telling them—whatever it is, they will surely appreciate it.
5. Reward yourself
This is also the best time to reward yourself for all the hard work you’ve done this year. 2022 is really a rough ride but knowing that you’ve made it through it all only shows how strong and capable you are this year. Have a pamper day, buy the things that you’ve been wanting to have, treat yourself to a luxurious restaurant, give yourself a break, or enjoy a nice and quiet day. 2022 is about to end and no one is more proud of you than your January ’22 self. Pat yourself in the back, you deserve that!
