Life isn’t linear. One moment you’re on top of the world, and the next you’re just proud of yourself for getting out of bed.

Just like everyone else, I too have my moments when giving up is the easiest thing to do. That’s okay. That’s just how life works. It moves more like the ocean than a staircase. There are highs, lows, calm waters, and storms, but you’re still moving because you have to.

Whenever I’m in this kind of situation, I always remind myself of these words. And I hope this will help you too — to, somehow, survive the hard days.

1. “I’ve survived so many storms before. “

It’s true. This isn’t the first storm your boat has faced. But remember how you still found your way forward? You’ve sailed through hardships that once felt impossible and endured waves that seemed too strong.

The sea has challenged you before, yet you’ve always made it to calmer waters.

2. “It won’t be like this forever.”

Bad days don’t stay forever, even if they feel endless in the moment. Think about the hard times you’ve already been through — they didn’t last, and they passed. Better days came, and they still do.

3. “I’m still breathing.”

You’re still breathing.

That alone means you haven’t lost the fight.

No matter how heavy things feel, you’re still here, and that already says a lot.

4. “God is trying to teach me something.”

Maybe God is trying to teach me something.

Or maybe it’s the universe doing it in its own way. Either way, hardship has a purpose we don’t always see in the moment.

Without it, growth wouldn’t really happen.

5. “This too shall pass.”

This will pass. The sun will rise again. The rain will stop. The waves will calm.

And you’ll find yourself in better days, in a better place.

Did this resonate with you? I’d love to hear from you.
